RECENT CHICAGO EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY
Irish sports/travel minister visits Chicago
Last month the minister of tourism and sport from Ireland was in Chicago to promote travel to the enchanted island, but also to support the Irish rugby team in their match against the world best team from New Zealand. I spent two days documenting the various events around downtown Chicago, and I can attest to the fact that the Irish know how to have a good time, this is the type of event that makes a Chicago event photographer enjoy their profession. And the best part of the weekend was the result of the rugby match–the Irish beat the All Blacks from New Zealand, something that hadn’t happened in over 100 years.
Chardonnay Run charity event
On a beautiful summer afternoon several thousand runners came out to Grant Park to run, dance, drink and raise money for various charities. The food and wine was plentiful, the music was raucous and the setting sun lent a romantic tone to the festivities. Judging from the countless smiles it seemed like all had a good time. Just looking at the photos makes me pine for those lazy crazy hazy days of summer.
Chicago Children’s Charities Holly Ball
In December the Chicago Children’s Charities hosted their annual Holly Ball at the prestigious Racquet Club in Chicago’s Gold Coast. The formal event raised thousands of dollars for local charities that benefit children of all ages and needs. Event photography is such a pleasure when the setting is so elegant, the people are dressed to the hilt and the food and drinks are top notch.
